Vermont Wedding: Sue & Jeff, Essex, Vermont

Having planned and pulled off a private home wedding for my own wedding, I can understand and relate to all the work and planning that goes into things. There are so many extra details that need attending too, but in the end when everything comes together, all of the extra work and attention was worth it because the location has such meaning!

Sue & Jeff were married at Jeff’s dad’s home. The property has beautiful flower gardens and landscaping thanks to Jeff’s dad’s wife and on a good day there is a beautiful view of Mount Mansfield. Getting to wedding day took a few mishaps and glitches though, such as having to replace the whole driveway after heavy rain washed it out and having to replace all the garden mulch when rain washed the mulch away. But once wedding day came, things came together. 🙂 Despite the ever present fog and hint of rain, Sue & Jeff were married amongst their family and friends in the beautiful gardens and celebrated well into the night enjoying every moment! The beautiful summer colors they chose for their decorations and flowers added the pop of color that they gray skies denied us and the sturdy tent protected the guests from getting wet and cold.

Congratulations again Sue & Jeff! It was such a pleasure to get to know you both. 🙂 Enjoy a selection of my favorite images from the day and check out the slide show below. All the best, Kathleen

I love the age/photo table numbers! Guests really enjoy them too. 🙂

Custom beverage glass favors for guests to use throughout the night and take home later. They read, “Vows are done, now let’s have some fun!”

Sue wore her mom’s garter.

Maggie, the ring bearer, watching set-up!

Maggie & Lydia were such good girls doing their job as ring bearers!

After the ceremony Sue & Jeff snuck out the back and made a surprise entrance to the reception with Jeff’s dad at the wheel!

Lot’s of local goodies!

Jeff is a hot air balloon pilot (yes, how awesome is that?!) and another pilot friend gave him the cork balloon. I thought it was perfect for the rings and super adorable!

Candy table for dessert!

Candy sushi?! Awesome!

Jeff created a super sweet slideshow to surprise Sue with. Everyone enjoyed it immensely!

These photos were absolutely phenomenal – I enjoyed them so much. The groom’s mother lived with me for 7 yrs so we’ve been friends for awhile and I met with her yesterday for lunch and she emailed me these photos this morning.

It brought tears to my eyes – they looked so happy together.
I only met Jeff once but I’ve seen manypics of him over the yrs while his Mom lived with me.

The backdrop of the lush vegetation in Vermont combined with the “natural” looking photography was stunning, I absolutely loved the photos. I thought she made a beautiful bride – she has a warm, relaxing smile. Jeff’s suit which I understand was custom designed, fit him like a glove and he looked very good in it. The bride’s gown was so becoming on her.

I loved the decorations on the table – I loved the colors, pink and green and they were so “Vermont” – being that I was born and raised In Massachusetts, I’m a New Englander at heart and could appreciate the decor.

I loved the two golden labs – esp being that I owned a yellow Lab for 12 yrs. that was a nice twist.

The tent looked beautiful with allthe lights. I can’t tellyou how many weddings I’ve gone or known about where the photographer either lost the film or they didn’t come out properly. And that daycan never be re-captured.

The North Photography did a spectacular review of the wedding and I esp loved the music accompanying the slide show – the music struck a deep chord within myheart and the tears just began to flow. It’s so nice to see two people really happy and in love. I wish them many happy yrs together.
