Yesterday Leisl was in his own little form of kitty heaven. It was his first day outside since the snow first fell back in early December! He was rolling in the dirt, eating the fresh baby grass that was poking through the dried weeds and obsessively marking his territory with his affectionate kitty face strokes. If you listened closely you could hear him murmuring, “Mine. Mine. Mine.” He frolicked and perused for hours before coming in for dinner and passing out for the night.
This morning it was a similar song and dance at the door as he asked to go out. “Purrrrrrlease!” Shortly after he had gone out, I settled in at the computer and checked the weather to see an impending “winter storm advisory.” As if on cue, the wind picked up at the moment and I padded back downstairs to let the cat in.
As he ran for the door, a particularly big dead leaf blew right into his face on a big gust of snowy wind. Leisl *harumphed* his way back inside with a fierce scowl on his face. Snow quickly blanketed his once naked playground as he took up his vigil in the window, waiting, waiting, waiting.
I guess Spring is not quite here yet buddy…soon though!
