It is becoming less and less often that I am the 2nd shooter at a wedding, which is a good testimonial as to how much North Photography has flourished in the past few years! But, I will admit that a change of pace is always nice and if the opportunity arises and the timing fits, I happily slip back into 2nd shooter mode. Since the couple is not my main focus of the day, I tend to capture more detail images and candids. This was a perfectly delicious detail heavy wedding!
Kirsten & Steph celebrated their wedding last September, although many of their decorations and details would be perfect for a Spring or Summer wedding. I had the pleasure of shooting alongside my friend and fellow photographer, Justin Cash. It is always a good time when the duo is working together! When we arrived, things were pretty mellow as the girls were getting ready. While Justin stuck with the ladies, I headed out to see what else was going on in the way of set-up.
I just loved the colors they chose! So bright and vibrant!
Rose petals for the recessional. To cover the tent poles they strapped tree branches and wrapped them with white lights.
Sweets! You cannot go wrong with a candy bar. I really love the jars they used too!
I found Kirsten’s mom setting up cute little chocolate flowerpot truffles. What a neat idea!
The beautiful cake was done by Irene’s Cakes by Design. She always does such magical cakes! And look! Even the butter is beautiful with a sprig of purple. 🙂
When I headed back to the getting ready scene, Kirsten was finishing getting her dress on.
We took a few moments to slip outside before guests arrived and capture some images in the beautiful sunshine.
Watching as guests arrive! Love the buckets on the trees with the long flowing ribbon. 🙂
This little guy came prepared!
Kirsten & Steph walked down the sunshine-lit aisle together. 🙂
I loved Steph’s Oxfords!
Baby girl had such beautiful eyes! Those lashes!
As the sun set, the tent became aglow with the tiny white lights and candles!
Dinner was served family style, which I think is a great concept for a wedding! I have a few weddings this summer that are doing it that way. Very cozy.
And then of course, the night was celebrated to its fullest!
Thank you Kirsten & Steph for welcoming me into your lives for the day!
