I have been looking forward to Kali & Erik’s wedding for well over a year! Many people had!! Ever since their engagement session last September we have been chatting about and getting excited for 9.10.11! 🙂 And then Irene came calling…Tropical Storm Irene that is. Two weeks before 9.10.11 massive flooding wiped out homes, roads, bridges, businesses, and many wedding venues. Kali and I chatted the Monday after the devastation and she had no idea what had become of Long Trail Brewery (rehearsal dinner), The Echo Lake Inn (wedding!) or if roads were passable to get to the locations in Vermont! Did this get her down? Heck no! She was going to marry her sweetheart come hell or high water and set to work finding ways for her guests to travel to her wedding. Luckily both The Echo Lake Inn and Long Trail were mostly unaffected by the storm and by 9.10.11 a handful of roads were open enough for guests to get to the wedding. And what a wedding it was! Enjoy some of my favorites from the day and be sure to check out their slideshow. They had a not so typical bouquet/garter toss that got everyone pretty excited!! Happy weekend! Kathleen
Wedding day is finally here! A little quiet before the excitement starts.
Kali’s beautiful necklace of polished stones! It reminded me of a sculpture.
The guys were ready when we arrived and enjoyed some downtime (and some Long Trails!) while the girls hustled to get ready!
Once dressed we popped downstairs to meet up with Nana who helped put Kali’s necklace on. I think Nana was more excited for this day than anyone else. 😉
Everyone had tears in their eyes. 🙂 It was a really beautiful and loving ceremony.
Mr. & Mrs.!!!! <3
Erik’s nieces handed out the programs dressed as a Red Sox and Yankees player. 🙂 Erik loves the Yankees and Kali loves the Red Sox. Luckily they REALLY love each other. 😉
The fabulous bridal party! Being a little silly.
You might remember from their e-session how much Erik loves his yellow truck. 😉
Kali has to stand on her tip toes to give Erik a kiss. 😉
Kali & Erik made a donation to the Vermont Flood Relief fund in honor of their guests. They also had a donation box for guests to make donations to the relief fund. So thoughtful! Also, another awesome detail? Their guest “book” tailgate! A good friend had it painted and brought it with him to the wedding from Texas! It will hang in their home “Man Cave”/Bar one day. 🙂
The toasts had it all; sweet stories, laughter, tears, smiles. Made for a wonderful start to the evening!
As the sun lowered, we snuck away for a few more portraits of Kali & Erik. Love the red chairs on the porch of Echo Lake Inn!
A little homage to the destruction caused by Irene.
Congratulations Kali & Erik! I am so happy that I was able to be with you on your wedding day. Best wishes for a wonderful today, tomorrow and forever! xo Kaht
