Displaying Family Portraits: Deenie & Her Family

Happy First Day of Spring!

The warm weather has been insanely enticing, making me want to pop outside and start raking out the flower gardens. But OH! I know as soon as I do that we will get 4 feet of snow and everything will freeze! It’s just the way my luck works when it comes to gardening. 🙂 And so I shall sit here in my computer cave and share some lovely things with you.

After a portrait session, the  hardest part for a client is choosing their favorite images from their session. Once we have narrowed things down to their ultimate faces, then comes the decision of what to do with all these fabulous images of their loved ones! Luckily there are many options that can accomodate  numerous images for display and preservation. Here are some examples of what a recent family decided to do with their favorite images. 🙂

This past Winter (Yes, we had a little smidgen of Winter here in Vermont), I had the pleasure of meeting Deenie & Stephen’s whole family. Although their one son and his family live locally, their other son and his family live on the West Coast! When West Coast contingent said they were coming for a visit around the New Year, Deenie decided it was a great time to get a family portrait done. Especially since they had two new family members arrive in the past year!

A family portrait of the good looking group. 🙂

The final product! An 11×14″ archival print framed with a double mat in a 15×18″ cherry wood frame. It hangs in the kitchen/dining room entry where Deenie & Stephen can see and enjoy it daily. 🙂

Then came the decision of what to do with their other favorite images.

A 10×7″ album with a custom image cover and leather wrapped spine and back was the answer!

The custom layout features 39 favorite images. The album is the perfect size for sharing and displaying on a bookshelf or coffee table. 🙂

The images are printed on a watercolor paper that adds a nice texture to the images and feels really nice as well. 🙂 There is not gutter between the pages, so images can go across the full spread without being split.

These albums are really nice and perfect for portrait sessions. I have several upcoming designs that I will look forward to sharing as well!

In the meantime, enjoy some of my favorites from Deenie’s family session. Her two grandchildren are just so adorable! From fuzzy hair to sweet smiles, I could have spent the whole day with them. 🙂

Forgive me little guy, but this one makes me smile so much! Your cousin is so concerned for your wellbeing! 🙂

All’s well.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!
