Crafting Day with Amanda

With  three seasons of the year filled to overflowing with weddings and portrait sessions, we photographers take time in the winter to enjoy one another’s company and to put our other skills to work! Amanda of Orchard Cove Photography is not only a good friend, but a fellow crafter! She came over this past week and we visited and worked on some little projects that had been tempting us: one useful and one just for fun!

I saw this hat template and thought 1) how cute! and 2) looks easy! So we each tackled one and YES! They were pretty easy. 🙂 Check out the directions here.

Sized for heads a wee bit smaller than our own. Yeah, we’re goofballs. 🙂

Re-Usable produce bags to replace the plastic ones at the store. We each made several different sizes and kept coming up with different fruits or veggies we could put in them. 🙂 Plums, cherries, corn, beans, lettuce etc. As with any re-usable store bags though, remember to wash them! Don’t want salmonella or something else hanging out. You can find the produce bag tutorial here.

Have you done any fun crafty projects recently? Share in the comments below! 🙂

I loved this post Kat. A great reminder that I need to take more time for crafty things in the winter. This season I have been recycling wool sweaters by felting them and making them into purses and dahlia brooches. Looks like you two had fun! I would love to start a crafty-group! 🙂 jReplyCancel

Those hats are too cute! I crochet, I have been trying to teach my kids how to crochet but its still a work in prcess. I make newborn hats and kids hats as well. I have also made a mesh market bag and some afgans! I would love to get a group of people together and show them how to crochet someday!ReplyCancel
