Sully (Katie) is one of my closest friends. 🙂 We were camp counselors together back in our high school days and remained fairly inseparable through the Summer months! We would do days off together and take road trips to the beach and other destinations. We even had a few matching outfits that we would don at camp as we told all the campers we were sisters. 🙂 Even though she is not a sister by blood, she is definitely a sister of my soul. My life is always better when Sully is in it!
After high school, college took us separate ways for a few years, but we quickly reunited after graduation and both married wonderful guys with ‘D’ names within a year of one another. She and her husband live in DC now, but we keep in touch via email and phone calls on a weekly basis.
This past Spring when Sully shared the wonderful news with me that her and Dave were expecting their first child, I could not have been happier for them! And when exactly a month later I shared the news that Devin and I were expecting a little one ourselves, the excitement was overboard!
Sully is due in late October and I am due in late November, exactly 1 MONTH apart! Everyone that knows us from our camp days has made a comment along the lines of, “Well, you two did always do things together!” 🙂 We are both pretty thrilled to be sharing this experience with one another, even if from afar.
Just over a week ago I made the trip down to Southern NH (Sully’s hometown area) for Sully’s baby shower. A friend and belly reunion!
Another friend of Sully’s is expecting as well and due in late September. We HAD to take a 4 week progression photo. 🙂 None of us are finding out if are having boys or girls until they arrive in person. Any guesses? 🙂 We had a lot of people guessing at the shower. Luckily it is a 50/50 chance! 🙂
Devin has been taking a bi-weekly photo of me in our back garden. As I grow outward, the garden grows up and around me and the baby! Here I am at 22 weeks. 🙂 Finally looking pregnant!
Everything has gone quite smoothly so far and with the height of wedding season still ahead of me, I just am keeping my fingers crossed that things continue on their smooth progression. Funny enough, I am not the only Vermont wedding photographer that is expecting this Summer and the three of us are all due around the same time, so I am in good company. 🙂 xoxo Kathleen
